Harvard Review publishes short fiction, poetry, and essays. Writers at all stages of their careers are invited to submit, however, we can only publish a very small fraction of the material we receive.
Please submit no more than one piece of prose or up to five poems in a given reading period. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. Please notify us if the work has been accepted elsewhere via your Submittable account.
No submissions will be accepted outside of the submission period. Please note that it can take us up to a year to respond, though we try to get back within six months.
Manuscripts must be double-spaces, paginated, and clearly labeled with the author’s name and contact information on every page.
Please limit your submission to no more than 7,000 words of prose.
Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but we ask that you notify us if the work is accepted elsewhere.
